There was an excellent attendance of members and new visitors for the start to the year.
The set topic for February was, appropriately, new beginnings.
Members welcomed back Sue Josephson as the judge for the evening.
Sue is a member of the Bay and Basin Camera Club and is a photography judge accredited by the Federation of Camera Clubs of NSW.
There were many interesting interpretations of the set subject ranging from babies and weddings to plants and insects and even newly sharpened pencils.
In the open section there were some lovely and meritorious entries.
Sue awarded the photo of the month to Kim Touzel for her beautiful image Metamorphosis.
This photograph was entered in the set topic and depicts a monarch butterfly which has newly emerged from the chrysalis.
The next meeting of the club is tonight, Wednesday, February 25.
This meeting is a camera question and answer workshop aimed at helping photographers understand more about their camera functions and uses.
Members should bring their camera and camera manual.
The next assessment meeting is on Wednesday, March 11.
The set topic is solitary, simplicity and minimalism.
Some wonderful images will, no doubt, be presented for this subject.
Shoalhaven Photographic Club members were highly awarded at the Nowra and the Kangaroo Valley shows.
Congratulations to the members who achieved such excellent results.
The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm at the School of Arts annexe across the road from the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre and at the rear of the Berry Street car park.
Visitors are always welcome.
Information about the club, meeting place and the program is available on the club website at www.shoalphoto.org.
