While he is fully entitled to voice his opinion regarding the recent decision of the majority of councillors to lodge a bid for this site, his claims that “large sums of money are being spent in and around Huskisson” and “[is] this council prepared to spend millions of dollars in ward 2 to provide pathways and a glorified park?” is surely guilding the lily.
In recent times millions of ratepayer dollars have been spent in ward 3 on projects such as the Dunn Lewis Centre, Ulladulla Civic Centre, Ulladulla Harbour Walkway, Milton to Mollymook shared pathway, to name a few.
Perhaps Cr Kitchener has somehow become desensitised to the fact that tourism is our lifeblood, and Jervis Bay is the magnet that attracts tourists from all over the world, providing benefits to the whole of the Shoalhaven.
G. Kelson,
Huskisson.
