Jaye Stuckey, 20, of Moles Street, Albion Park appeared in Nowra Local Court on Friday, charged with stealing from a person, receiving and disposing of stolen property and dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
Stuckey pleaded guilty to stealing $550 from a customer at the Bomaderry McDonald’s restaurant, later distributing some of the money, and with purchasing cigarettes on a credit card that belonged to another person.
Police told the court Stuckey was sitting in a car in the Bomaderry McDonald’s Rest-aurant car park between 11.30am and 11.40am on August 29 last year, when he noticed a man in the car next to him with a sum of money.
Stuckey approached the vehicle, reached in an open window and stole $550 in cash as the man attempted to place it in his wallet.
Stuckey was arrested on September 5 and admitted to the theft and giving money to the two other men who were with him.
He also pleaded guilty to using someone else’s credit card to purchase cigarettes at Callala Bay on September 12.
He was ordered to undertake a seven-month intensive correction order, during which he will have to undertake community service.
