Kiama MP Gareth Ward said the NSW Liberals and Nationals Government inherited a social housing system from Labor that was unfair and unsustainable.
“Since 2011, we have worked extremely hard to make the social housing system fairer and better for everybody,” he said.
South Coast MP Shelley Hancock said the government had made waiting lists transparent and cracked down on people rorting the system.
“We have also arrested the decline in social housing stock. Thanks to the sale of properties at Millers Point the supply of social housing is now growing, the first time in more than a decade,” she said.
