A SOUTH Nowra man who pleaded guilty to stealing a number of items from the Salvation Army Store at South Nowra has been sentenced to seven months’ jail and placed on a good behaviour bond.

Nathan Kenneth Ellis, 37, of Princes Highway pleaded guilty to stealing property to the value of $100.
Facts tendered to the court said between 11.55pm on June 28 and 12.10am on June 29, Ellis stole multiple items of clothing, four DVDs, numerous home appliances, a handbag, journal and notepad, Olympus and Kodak digital camera docks, four pairs of sunglasses in cases, men’s cologne, facial wipes, a pink make-up bag, a dartboard and a Phillips portable DVD player.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing home breaking implements, resisting three police constables in the execution of their duty and assault police.
Ellis appeared in Nowra Local Court on January 23 before Magistrate Dr Gabriel Fleming.
Magistrate Fleming sentenced him to nine months’ jail with a non-parole period of six months for the charges of possessing home breaking implements, resisting and assaulting police.
He will also be placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond upon his release from jail over the larceny charges and was fined $500.
