A CORRECTIVE Services officer who pleaded guilty to taking ecstasy, methamphetamine or ice and buprenorphine into the South Coast Correctional Centre at South Nowra has been committed for sentencing in Nowra Local Court.

Scott Duncan Moreland, 44, of Boolwarroo Parade, Shellharbour, appeared before Magistrate Dr Gabriel Fleming on January 20.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of corruptly receive benefit, two counts of supply-knowingly take part in the supply of a prohibited drug, bring or attempt to bring things into a place of detention without authority.
Moreland was arrested by officers attached to Strike Force Kubax on July 8 last year.
Court documents said Moreland was stopped as he entered the jail on The Links Road at South Nowra around 7.30am.
The officer was searched and police allegedly found 150 tablets in a heat-sealed pack.
A search of his home in Shellharbour located cash and drugs.
Documents before the court state Moreland received $2000 and $6000 for taking drugs into the correctional centre.
It was alleged he took 150 tablets, believed to be ecstasy, 80 buprenorphine wafer stripes and 1.19 grams of methamphetamine into the jail.
He was also charged with having $800 in his possession believed to be unlawfully obtained.
Earlier this year investigators attached to the Corrective Services Investigation Unit began inquiries into claims prohibited drugs, prescription drugs and various items of contraband were being introduced into a correctional centre in return for payment.
He has been committed for sentencing in Nowra on March 2.
