THE small coastal town of Narooma on the Far South Coast, NSW has been voted in the Top 10 Australian cities and towns by Flight Centre.

And the town doesn’t have an airport, the closest flights landing at Moruya and Merimbula.
A Flight Centre spokeswoman said the ranking was based on a single Facebook post on Sunday, the day before Australia Day.
The company's social media team monitored all 703 comments and then compiled the list, and she added there was obviously "a passionate community" who loved Narooma.
Narooma was ranked Number 6 ahead of Adelaide, Byron Bay and Port Macquarie.

2. Cairns, QLD
3. Broome, WA
4. Hobart, TAS
5. Sydney, NSW
6. Narooma, NSW
7. Adelaide, SA
8. Byron Bay, NSW

10. Port Macquarie, NSW
The news comes on the heels of a bumper holiday season at Narooma over Christmas with the town’s streets and beaches packed with tourists from Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney.
Narooma must be doing something right with visitors as it was only December that the online hotel booking company Trivago ranked the town fourth in online hotel reputation in NSW and making it one of Australia’s top 50 destinations
Hotels in the town were rated an average of 83.43 on Trivago, bringing it to 23rd place in the national list, between Palm Cove (QLD) and the Sunshine Coast (QLD). In NSW, the destination is just behind Merimbula and is ahead of Nambucca Heads.
