TAFE events officer Anne Howell said visitors can obtain help from expert and friendly staff in researching courses and applying to enrol.
Local Katie Thomas, 21, completed a Certificate IV in Agriculture from the Nowra campus in 2013. She is now working as a jillaroo on an alpaca stud.
“It was so much fun learning to drive tractors and doing chainsaw work,” Ms Thomas said.
“Studying at TAFE really gave me a good sense of what is involved in working with animals and in agriculture.”
She said she loved TAFE, especially when it involved practical work like riding quad bikes.
“I thrived most on the theory because I could apply it straightaway to what I was doing.”
Ms Howell said all students need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to apply or enrol.
“It’s free and easy to create a USI on the Department of Industry website at www.usi.gov.au. Staff will also be available at Choices Day to help potential students create a USI number.”
TAFE qualifications are nationally accredited and internationally recognised.
