Hill, due to a troublesome hamstring injury, was expected to miss the rest of the season but he opened both the batting and bowling on Saturday.
He only made three runs and his team was all out for 102 runs.
Brandon Labb’s 27 runs was the bright batting light for the Basin.
Labb hit two boundaries and would have been disappointed he did not turn his solid start into a big score.
Basin’s Braedon Shears 18 runs and Tom Mason 16 runs were both dismissed just when they started to look good.
Joel Gray and the ageless Bill Moffatt took three wickets each for Berry.
Berry’s new ball bowler Chris McCarron only took one wicket but on the strength of his bowling figures deserves a mention.
McCarron sent down nine over, including an impressive six maidens which only cost seven runs.
He also dismissed the dangerous Hill.
Berry started its ran chase and Glenn Brandon was an early casualty and next Saturday they resume on 1/9.
