When she decides to give 100 per cent, her achievements will be even greater, which why she is a highly rated athlete.
Despite drawing on only half of her impressive talent, success after success followed this champion field athlete in 2014.
“My achievements last year have been the best ever,” the Nowra High School student said.
Her most recent success was at the Australian All Schools Championships in Adelaide.
In the under 18's discus, she hurled an IAAF World Youth Championships throw of 47.93m earning herself a national silver medal.
Her list of achievements is just incredible and was achieved under an injury cloud.
“My achievements have been the best ever – but my form was not my best ever,” she said.
“I pushed myself doing a program and slipped a disk in my back.”
She was injured for an extended period but at her first event back from injury at the Combined High Schools carnival at Homebush she won the discus, despite not have picked up a discus in weeks.
This talented athlete has a plan of what will she wants in the future and it does not all revolve around sport.
“My education comes first,” she said.
She will be going into years 11 and 12 and is determined to meet her academic goals.
Peace, when it comes to the books, is no slouch and she won the Nowra High School’s year 10 commerce award.
“Yeah I love my commerce,” she said.
Commonwealth and Olympic Games remain her dream.
“In my field of athletics you not reach your prime until you are 25 to 26-years-of-age. So I have plenty of time,” she said.
“Athletes in my sport have represented their country in their 40s.”
Her first aim is to compete in the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Her coach is Cowra based Ernie Shankelton who has got athletes to the highest level.
“It’s a 10 hour trip to see him but it’s worth it,” she said.
Peace said there would be no rest for her over the current school holidays and she plans to train hard as normal.
Before the holidays, at successive competitions, one in Sydney and the other in Kiama she once again threw world youth qualifying throws.
