The bans are regularly in place around Christmas and New Year and are an attempt to curb violence associated with excessive drinking.
Shoalhaven Local Area Commander, Superintendent Joe Cassar said the initiative is the result of a rise in festive season alcohol-fuelled violence across the area in recent years.
“In past years we had a number of incidents where families including young children who went to these locations were been intimidated by the behaviour of some members of the community. Young children actually witnessed assaults taking place,” said Superintendent Cassar.
“When you add this to the fact that one in five of your police were injured responding to incidents of alcohol-related violence over the last year’s Christmas/New Year holidays – enough is enough. We need to continue to be proactive rather than reactive to ensure your family’s safety.”
