IT appears the Shoalhaven City Council (SCC) has a policy of developer appeasement and it is not a recent affliction. Appeasement can range in cost to a $300,000 ratepayer funded handout to so-called poor non-English speaking migrants, allegedly duped by a series of shonky real estate people, a racing association said to be worth $5 million dollars which is unable to pay for a property to construct its own facility without ratepayer support, a multi-billion dollar profit making commercial entity and finally a similarly blessed religious organisation.

Regarding the $300,000 I wonder how much of this loan/handout has been returned to the ratepayers and how long will we wait to see a return on the money, in the form of generous leasing arrangements to the racing organisation.
Regarding the commercial entity, surely this company can afford to pay for its own roads as any money expended can be listed on a tax return as expenses.
And as far as the religious organisation is concerned, we are being played for suckers with promises of payment at some time in the future but with the self-appointed right to change this date at will.
The SCC seems to be acting like a benevolent bank, if indeed there is such a facility and I am sure we know the answer to that question, as we do when rate increases are being considered.
