With an ATAR of 99.05 Jasmyn said she was shocked but absolutely relieved.
“I couldn’t put a number to the exact hours I spent studying but I can say it was a lot,” she said.
“I think the biggest thing when studying is finding consistency and trying your best.”
Jasmyn was also acknowledged on the NSW Distinguished Achievers list for results exceeding 90 per cent.
She said the great results meant she would pursue her studies at University of Wollongong.
“I’m very lucky to get early entry into an arts major in psychology and law,” she said.
“At this stage I don’t have any plans to celebrate but I’m looking forward to spending time with friends and family over Christmas.”
Jasmyn’s mother Kylie Newton said her daughter worked hard and deserved such great results.
“It’s just unbelievable.”
Jasmyn studied two unit English, legal studies, modern history, general mathematics and French beginners.
