Nowra Anglican College (NAC) and St John The Evangelist High School held celebratory morning teas on school grounds for the students, their families and teachers.

NAC principal Lorrae Sampson said she was extremely proud of all the students’ achievements.

“We did particularly well in mathematics, music, business studies, English biology and chemistry.”

Timothy O’Shea was NAC’s top achiever with an ATAR of 95.1.

He said he wanted to pursue study in medical science at either Wollongong University or the Australian National University in Canberra.

“I’m really happy with my results but probably more relieved.”

Timothy is also a keen sports person, having represented Australia in London for triathlon racing in 2013.

“This year I really focused on my studies though,” he said.

“But I’ve been back into the fitness thing over the last six weeks.”

The other two top achievers at NAC were Georgia Love with 93.6 and Amy Aquilina with 93.05.

Georgia said it was hard work that paid off.

“I’m going to study advanced mathematics at Wollongong University and see where that takes me.”

Amy said she did a lot better than she thought she would.

“I’m going to study forensic science at the University of Technology Sydney.”

St John’s had a huge gathering to celebrate some great results including Sam Robertson who achieved the school’s top score of 95.5.

Will Hall came in second with an ATAR of 93.45 and third in line was Lewis Bonney with 90.7.
