Egans Park is like an explosion of colour in the centre of Nowra.
Stage one of the area at the top of Egans Lane car park has been revamped and will be officially opened at 4pm Wednesday.
As part of its strategy to revitalise the Nowra CBD, Shoalhaven City Council redesigned the area to encourage more people to use the space, particularly older residents and children.
The coloured patterns on the ground, bubblers, and some of the seats have been installed.
Shoalhaven City Council Landscape architect Ros Holmes said despite the recent wet weather the team building the park had done well to stay on schedule.
“The whole park is about seating, a meeting place, about being place to get together and it will be a great spot for grandparents to mind children while parents do some shopping,” she said.
Stage two of the park which will begin after Christmas.
It will include an innovative water play area featuring a series of stations that produce a cooling mist.
The system will be similar to those found in Darling Harbour and the National Gallery gardens.
