For the past five years the golden laced Wyandotte has called Solomon Motor Group home, but yesterday he disappeared.
Neil Solomon from the company on the Princes Highway, South Nowra said the rooster turned up at the car yard five years ago and just never left.
“It’s like losing a pet,” he said.
“He even comes to you when you whistle or call out Baz.
“It’s a really sad time for all of us here and there are a lot of people around who knew him that are really upset as well.”
Mr Solomon said there is a $500 reward for his return.
“No questions asked,” he said.
“He was such a tame bird. It’s possible someone saw him wandering around the place and picked him up thinking he was a lost bird.
“He went missing around 10.30am on Friday and hasn’t been seen since, which is very unlike him.”
Baz slept in a nearby tree in the car yard and always turned up for his breakfast.
“He was just full of personality,” Mr Solomon said.
“He would just follow us around like a dog, jump in our cars - go for a ride and he would even open the door to my office and sit in my chair, or wander down the hall to my Dad’s office and make home in his briefcase.
“He’s even been included in our T.V ad.”
Mr Solomon has pleaded that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Baz contact Solomon Motor Group on 4423 0222 or after hours contact Neil Solomon on 0412 715 370.
