We all are aware of the statement “No cuts to the ABC or SBS”.
Julia Gillard was pilloried when she reneged on a carbon tax promise, as much for that broken promise as for her gender.
The ABC is the only place one can go to get unbiased political reporting as other TV stations have their particular axe to grind and don’t even mention our national newspapers because we know who owns most of them and who influences editorial comment.
This action goes to an address Tony Abbott gave to the Institute of Public Affairs a couple of years ago when he said he would get rid of the ABC. This action has begun but we must not allow it to continue.
