You quote Shoalhaven City Council’s traffic unit manager Scott Wells as saying my suggested solution about changing traffic priorities was “just not possible”.
Why then did council waste money on a survey offering residents three traffic priority options plus a “do nothing” option if they were “just not possible”?
Was this just a public relations exercise by council in the hope that the majority would vote for no change?
If so, it backfired when a two thirds majority voted for a different priority.
If it is not possible because of fog then doesn’t this indicate all the more reason why a different priority should be considered? And if the present priority is the only solution why does the Roads and Maritime Service publication Road User’s Handbook show on page 88 a solution which is more in keeping with the usage of the existing traffic when the road across the top of the T is not a continuing road?
