This year will be the fourth time the event, which raises funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Australian Leukodystrophy Support Group, will be held at the Fleet Air Arm Museum.
St Georges Basin resident and Vietnam veteran Glen Maher will be one of a number of entrants in the bike section of the show.
He will have his 1996 Honda Valkyrie on display and hopes to go better than last year’s efforts when he placed third.
The Valkyries were first made in 1996 but weren’t released until 1997, with Glen’s stunning machine, which he describes as his “pride and joy”, being one of the first machines, carrying number 21.
“They were made through until 2003, but were reintroduced into the market place with an updated model in 2013 in the US and are now available in Australia,” he said.
His bike has a 1520cc flat six boxer engine and has just over 40,000km on the clock.
“It is just a beautiful bike to ride,” he said.
“It’s like riding a lounge suite.
“And while I can prepare it for shows, I also ride it regularly.
“The Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club is one of the sponsors for this year’s Albatross Show-N-Shine, so it was only natural to again be involved.”
The Show-N-Shine will be held between 10am-3pm, with entrants asked to arrive between 8am and 9.30am for set up.
Spectator entry to the show costs a gold coin donation.
