CONGRATULATIONS to the organising committee of the Shoalhaven River Festival, a great event and one the community can all enjoy. The two-day event was well organised and well attended and the fireworks display was a wonderful way to end the day’s activities on Saturday.

The Shoalhaven Education Fund was privileged to be the recipients of the inaugural Duck Dash, the festival finale on Sunday. What a fabulous and fun event this was with over 8500 little blue ducks all swimming their way to the finish line.
The Duck Dash raised $29,500 for the Shoalhaven Education Fund, a local volunteer, non-for-profit group whose sole purpose is to raise funds to assist Shoalhaven youth aged 16-21 in their endeavours to attend university, TAFE or further education, starting an apprenticeship or traineeship or starting entry level work and have a demonstrated need for financial assistance.
A special thank you to Silos Estate for daring to think big and take such a large personal financial risk on the success of this event, Integrity Real Estate and the many other sponsors and supporters and a huge thank you to all the community for purchasing ducks. A special thank you to the 30-plus volunteers for assisting, to Catherine Hutchinson for monitoring and maintaining the website for the duck purchases and to event auditors Morton & Cord Chartered Accountant for ensuring probity was maintained at all times.
To all involved a huge thank you for your wonderful efforts. We never in our wildest dreams imagined receiving such generous support.
On behalf of our committee and the youth of the Shoalhaven.
