Bomaderry finished the day at 9/201 from 50 overs thanks largely to the efforts of Zac Blattner and Campbell Eldred.
Blatnner (88) and Eldred (77) came together at 2/70 and put on a 112-run stand before Eldred fell at 3/182.
Dayne Johnston (19) was the only next best with the bat, while Jake Matthews added 11.
Lleyton Roach was the best for United with the ball in hand, his 3/19 made him the only multiple wicket taker.
At Nowra High School, the match between Batemans Bay and Nowra is evenly poised, with Nowra 4/20 in reply to the Bay’s 83.
Matthew Klarica led the way for the Bay with his 32, with some support from Brody Saker (12) and Brody Blackmore (10).
Cameron Fernie (2/5) and Riley White (2/16) were the pick of the Nowra bowling attack.
Nowra would have been hopeful of putting a good dint in the Bay’s modest total, but Luke Wiggins had other ideas as he tore through the Nowra top order.
Wiggins claimed all of the four Nowra wickets that fell on the day as he returned the impressive figures of 4/9 from five overs.
At Bernie Regan Sporting Complex, Bay and Basin will start day two chasing North Nowra-Cambewarra’s 7/173.
Callum Franchi (2/15) and Tom Waring (2/20) were the best for the Basin with the ball, while Nicholas Kuncio and Benjamin Boyce-Mortlock grabbed a wicket each.
