Police from Strike Force Marroo, investigating a series of armed robberies on the South Coast between May and September last year, arrested and charged a 35-year-old woman in Warrawong on Thursday.
The six armed robberies occurred at a fast food restaurant in Unanderra, a golf club in Port Kembla, supermarkets in Gerringong and Bomaderry, both believed to be IGAs, a bowling club in Dapto and a bottle shop in Lake Heights.
It is believed the woman may have been involved in the robbery of the Gerringong IGA on August 3 in which a teenage cashier was threatened with a hammer and a similar robbery the same month at the IGA supermarket in the Bomaderry Plaza where a hammer was also produced.
The woman has been charged with four counts of armed robbery, two counts of break-and-enter and an outstanding warrant.
She was refused bail and is set to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Friday.
