The trust provided a grant to the centre management committee to buy a new ride-on mower to replace its old machine.
The old mower had become hazardous to operate and was unserviceable.
The centre is managed on behalf of the Shoalhaven City Council by an elected management committee of community volunteers, which is responsible for all repairs and maintenance of the centre, funds management, payment of accounts, ongoing improvements and general appearance.
All funds are derived from fees charged for hire.
The centre is located on the main street of Callala and is visible from the street. It has recently been landscaped with assistance from Shoalhaven City Council.
In order to meet its financial obligations, the centre has to be able to retain its current clients as well as attract new ones.
Treasurer Howard Duncan said the new mower would enable the centre to maintain a high standard of appearance of the extensive lawn areas.
“Savings made by the grant will enable the committee to accelerate other improvements,” he said.
Applications for Veolia Mulwaree Trust Community Grants and Donations funding round 38 have closed, with the next funding round opening mid-November.
