Jaye Stuckey, 19, of Old Southern Road, appeared via video link from jail, charged with stealing from a person and with receiving and disposing of stolen property.
Police told the court Stuckey was sitting in a car in the car park of the Bomaderry McDonald’s Restaurant between 11.30am and 11.40am on August 29, when he noticed a man in the car next to him with a sum of money.
They said Stuckey approached the vehicle, reached in an open window and stole $550 in cash as the man attempted to place it in his wallet.
He then ran from the scene, later being picked up in Cambewarra Road.
Police spoke to Stuckey and another man later that day but he denied the theft.
He was arrested on September 5, where he admitted to the theft and giving money to the two other men who were with him.
As part of his bail conditions Stuckey was required to report to Nowra Police Station.
After failing to do so he was arrested by police on September 17.
