After posting 7/246 in their first innings last week, Berry managed to bowl Norths out for just 41.
Norths were sent back in to follow on and were left with a massive job to do on the second day.
Resuming at 0/8, the visitors certainly showed a massive improvement on their performance on the first day.
While they lost Nick McDonald early, his opening partner Hugh Gillen (24) showed some resistance before he was bowled by Ty Cherry.
With the score at 2/54, Graham Davidson joined Alex Peters at the crease and they set about trying to get Norths out of trouble.
Things were looking promising for the visitors, with Peters and Davidson putting on 109 for the third wicket.
Unfortunately, it soon came unstuck for Norths.
Peters hit 12 fours and two sixes in his innings of 75, before he was out bowled by Brian Gray.
This produced a domino effect, with Norths skipper Dean Tyson out for one, followed by Davidson (57) and Blake Huard, leaving them at 6/171.
There was little resistance from the Norths lower order, as Ty Cherry ripped through.
Cherry was on a hat-trick at one stage and finished with 6/62, while Brian Gray was the next best with 3/35.
Norths were bowled out in their second innings for 201, in the end just five runs short of making Berry bat again.
But Berry’s first innings total turned out to be just enough, as they won outright by an innings.
It was certainly the perfect way for Berry to start their premiership defence, while Norths can take plenty of positives out of their second innings fight back.
