Yard Assist received recognition from the Shoalhaven Anti-Poverty Committee during Shoalhaven City Council’s Anti-Poverty Week mayoral morning tea.
Yard Assist was founded by the Shoalhaven Anti-Poverty Committee which brought together local residents and service organisations to come up with ideas for making sustained change in the community.
The volunteers mow lawns and tend gardens for people living in social housing who are unable to care for their own yards. While volunteers make a difference in the yards, their presence also offers social contact for people who are alone. Yard Assist urgently needs volunteers who are willing to mow a lawn or help out in a garden occasionally. To find out more or offer to help phone 4421 5145.
