Among the many in attendance were guests, Shoalhaven Mayor Joanna Gash, Gilmore MP Anne Sudmalis and South Coast MP Shelley Hancock, presenting Nowra Red Cross with a grant from the NSW Premier to renovate the Red Cross shop.
The evening was a great success and wouldn’t have been possible without the organisation of the branch president Brian, manager Shirley and all the volunteers for their time and effort put in on the night.
The catering for the evening was excellent and enjoyed by all in attendance as was the entertainment provided by the Vincentia Red Cross singers.
The book-themed cake made by Novi was won by MP Shelley Hancock and donated back to the party and enjoyed by all.
However, the biggest thank you has to be reserved for Robyn Florance for her research, editing and publishing of the Centenary of the Nowra Red Cross book.
All her time and effort is greatly appreciated for what is a wonderful keepsake and history that can be shared for many years to come.
If you would like to own a copy of this piece of local and Australian history, the book is available for purchase at the Nowra Red Cross shop in Schofields Lane, Nowra for $25.
