The movie Serenity was screened at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre as a fund-raiser for Equality Now, a charity dedicated to human rights for women.
Locally the event also raised money for the YWCA.
Organisers were please they sold over 85 tickets and raised $2000 for the causes.
They also thanked auctioneer Jeff Parsons for his efforts on the evening.
