Mrs Hollis-Coates would like to see a community swimming facility established in the area as there is no dedicated public swimming pool in Culburra Beach.
Her thought was to first establish a two-lane swim spa.
Mrs Hollis-Coates sent out almost 500 surveys for the public to fill out and return.
More than half have been signed and returned.
A community meeting regarding the proposal will be held on Saturday, October 18 in the Griffin Room of Culburra Bowling and Recreation Club from 2pm.
Surveys are available at Culburra Beach Chemist or by phoning Anne Hollis-Coates on 0412 820 721.
With Shoalhaven City Council currently spending almost $10 million on the Nowra Swimming Pool re-build, the proposal to build a pool at Culburra appears a long way from becoming reality. Shoalhaven City Mayor Joanna Gash said the option for a Culburra pool was not in council’s 10 year plan.
“There is no proposal and no land options for a Culburra Beach pool at this stage,” she said.
“It’s not on our radar.”
