He is also proud his son Shane and grandchildren Taya and Liam now also play for the Sharks.
The Bonsall family will be helping the Sharks celebrate its 40th anniversary on Saturday September 27.
Mr Bonsall said he was looking forward to what should be a great event.
“It will be good to catch up with some people I have not seen for a while,” he said.
Mr Bonsall has been a long serving president, coach and player for this great club.
He still continues today in the over 35s competition and has no thoughts of retirement.
The plan is for the three generations to play a few matches together.
“Even if we have to get dad out of retirement – we will have a few matches together,” Shane said.
Shane is proud of what the club promotes.
“We have always been about promoting juniors and the focus has never been on winning,” Shane said.
His dad expanded upon his son’s views.
“Ours is very much a community club,” he said.
Mr Bonsall loves to watch his grandchildren and the other junior play.
“Taya and Liam are now in the representative teams now,” Mr Bonsall said.
The club was established in 1974 and the reunion promises to be a special one.
It will be held at the Shoalhaven Head Sports and Recreation Club.
