It stated that as the owner of a property that is currently identified as “potentially at risk from future sea level rise” that I am “invited to comment and give feedback”.
The draft report is described as a regional partnership between Eurobodalla Shire and Shoalhaven City Council.
Independent expert coastal consultants Whitehead and Associates, together with Coastal Environment Pty Ltd, have been engaged to deliver the project; and, “when the public exhibition period closes, the independent consultants will review submissions received and copies of all submissions will be provided to councillors when considering adoption of the final report”.
I have studied the exhibition draft July 2014 of the report, and have made a submission in the manner required.
I find it such a flawed, biased and misleading paper that it cannot be relied upon. Moreover, it would be a travesty for the same authors to review submissions received presumably to prepare an assessment report to councillors when considering adoption of the report. The credibility and status of the councils involved is about to be tested.
N. Hughes,
Surf Beach.
