At about 10.40pm on Saturday, police saw a blue Ford Falcon sedan travelling along McMahons Road at North Nowra.
Their radar showed the car was doing 83km/h in a 60km/h zone.
The police caught up with the car as it entered the driveway of a unit complex.
The driver left his car and attempted to run away, but was caught after a short chase.
The 34-year-old North Nowra man was given a breath test which proved positive.
He was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station where a breath analysis gave a reading of 0.054.
A check showed the man did not have a driver’s licence and was disqualified from obtaining one until 2019.
