The man was wearing a black balaclava, grey striped hoodie, black track pants and running shoes when he entered the Burton Street business at 7.20pm.
He was carrying what appeared to be a firearm and demanded the victim, a 68-year-old female staff member, open the till.
She refused and a struggle followed in which the victim’s brief case fell to the floor.
The offender then stole her wallet and, after the woman threw an EFTPOS machine at him, ran away.
He was last seen running south out of the mall before turning right into Excellence Street.
Nowra Detectives are investigating and would like to hear from anyone with information about this incident.
