Each year the Werninck Craft Cottage members choose a charity to support through sales of their craft items and this year it is the auxiliary.
Earlier this year Werninck Craft Cottage donated a spirometer valued at over $3000 to the emergency ward at Shoalhaven Hospital and a further $1500 was passed at September’s meeting to be spent on items from the ward’s wish list.
The cottage’s major fund-raising event for 2014 is the annual spring fair to be held on Saturday, October 25 at the Wesley Centre on Berry Street in Nowra from 8am until 3pm.
Members hope that time will enable owners and employees working in the CBD to view the embellishment and creative use of materials purchased locally.
The stalls will have lots of great items for Christmas gifts.
In 2015 Werninck Craft Cottage is celebrating 30 years of charity work in the Shoalhaven.
The cottage would love to hear from past members, their families and descendants of the Werninck and Turner families.
Mrs Werninck was a daughter of the Turner family who built the cottage, which is a heritage listed building and is open Monday to Saturday during trading hours which are 9.30am to 3.30pm weekdays and 9.30am to 2pm on Saturday.
Members thanked the public for their continued support.
