Stealing the show was Daniel Lucas from Nowra High School.
The 15-year-old, who has played guitar for the past three years, performed with a 12-string guitar filtered through various effects pedals, and a didgeridoo and stomp boxes.
“Daniel from Nowra High, he was the ultimate winner,” said Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre manager Bob Mangan.
“He was enormously talented and is definitely going to go far.”
Having won the event, Daniel will perform at the Shoalhaven River Festival on October 25.
Mr Mangan said he was blown away by the range of talent, showcased in 10 different acts, and couldn’t have asked for the night to turn out any better.
“It was a fantastic night of fun. It was amazing to see so much talent within one room,” he said.
The night featured artists 1 O’clock Saturday, Kimberly de Ville, Bonni de Ville, Al and Co, Cielle Kinross, Catches and Halves, Five and I, Chris Rulewski, Daniel Lucas and the Drewsterz.
“The goal was to promote the festival and we did that,” Mr Mangan said.
“The Shoalhaven is replete with talent.”
The Shoalhaven River Festival will take place on the weekend of October 25-26. Some of the best local singers, dancers and bands will perform.
The day will kick off with a street parade through the Nowra CBD and will continue along the banks of the Shoalhaven River where market stalls, entertainment and a marine expo will entertain visitors.
The colourful event will end with a bang when fireworks are set off across the Shoalhaven River.
