Back at the club after a two year break and in a different role this year as Goalkeeper. Has a great pair of hands and does his job with no fuss.
Has made many important saves during the season and helps out the defence with his positive talk and instructions.
Central Defender: Tim Dixon (26)
Been with the club since the under 6s and replaced Matt Tooley at the heart of the defence. Strong in the air and a decisive tackler. Reads the game well. His long goal kicks and free kicks are an asset to the team.
Defender: Matt Sinden (32)
Returned to the club after a season off and doesn’t say much or carry on with any histrionics just gets on with the job and gives the opposition no room to move. Despite Thursday night car breakdowns, baby sitting duties, family functions, illness, “thought it was too wet”, remains one of the fittest players in the team. Must have a great personal trainer.
Defender/mid fielder/forward: Mark Dixon (29)
Has been with the club since starting in the under 7s in 1992. Has been used in many roles during the season to great effect. He won’t let the team down wherever he is used in the Grand Final. Strong in the air and a great tackler. Tough as nails and never takes a backward step.
Defender/mid fielder: Rob Barrett (33)
Reliable player who has been with club since 1997 and has taken over title of “senior” player following the early season retirement of Matt Tooley. Very composed player with good control on the ground and in the air and always dangerous taking free kicks around the penalty area. An accurate passer who brings other players into the game.
Midfielder Mitch Butel (29)
Another “lifer” starting with the club in the 1992 under 7s team. Captains the team and is well respected by his team mates. Is very quick and his dribbling runs cause panic in the opposition defence. Has a high work rate and keeps the team concentrating and wouldn’t surprise with a goal on the big day.
Defender/midfielder: Jackson Daley (26)
New to the club this year as the youngest of the Daley brothers who came across from the Sussex Club. Has settled into the team quickly. Operates up and down the right hand side of the field. Is extremely fast, effective in both attack and defence. Has scored important goals during the season including the opening goal in the major semi final.
Defender/midfielder/forward: Ben Daley (28)
Another of the Daley boys from Sussex and has played in all positions on the left hand side of the field. Prefers to play in the forwards but gives his best wherever he plays. Has an eye for goal, which runs in the Daley family scoring many important goals during the year.
Forward: Rohan Daley (30)
The eldest of the Sussex boys and has been the main scorer for the team during the season with some outstanding performances. His work rate is phenomenal and some of his goals breathtaking. His performance to score a hat-trick against Illaroo on his 30th birthday was unforgettable as was his birthday bash later in the night. Missed the Major semi with injury but should be ready to go for Grand Final.
Forward: Billy Zappas (21)
Played in Wollongong last year which has helped his game immensely and is an important member of the team who can inspire others with his perseverance. Small in stature but big in heart. Is targeted by opposition defences but keeps on getting up to torment them with his skill, pace and determination. Season has been interrupted by Uni. Exams and holidays but showed a return to fitness in the Major semi and will be a key player in the grand final.
Midfielder/forward: Brandon Perosh (21)
Has probably been the most consistent performer of the season hardly missing a game. So strong on the ball in attack and does his share of tackling. Has shown more composure in front of goal this year being the second leading goal scorer. Will be a major factor in the grand final.
Defender: Brian Malley (23)
Moved to the defence this year with great success. A strong tackler who reads the game well. Despite playing in the defence has still managed some memorable attempts on goal. Has been inconvenienced with injury late in the season and unable to take the field in the Major semi but could be back for grand final.
Midfielder: Sam Swan (23)
Returned to the club after not playing for a couple of seasons and his strength and reliability in the mid field is an asset. Goes about his business quietly and efficiently. A strong and fearless tackler who is good in the air and strong on the ball. An all round player who could pop up with a goal in the Grand Final.
Forward: Sam Walklate (28)
Has started games in first grade and has been used as a sub regularly. Has scored important goals including the match winner against Shoalhaven Heads, which proved to be important in the final table standings. Also scored the final game in major semi. Terrorises tired opposition defences when he comes on with his pace and mongrel attitude.
Midfielder/forward: Max Zappas (16)
First year with the club and first year in senior football. Has started several games in first grade and brought on as a replacement in others. The experiences have helped his game immensely. Will develop into a top class player as he gets older.
Forward: Jarrod Hickey (18)
Always ready to sit on the bench for first grade and has been used on many occasions during the season. Scored a goal against Basin to the delight of everyone. Will develop further as he gains more skills to go with his pace.
Goalkeeper: Ben Smeeth (34)
First year with the club and first season of football since under 10s.Reserve Grade keeper who is always ready to back up for First Grade if needed. Has improved greatly during the year with his heavy workload. Good in the air and fearless. Will not let the club down if needed in grand final.
Midfielder: Dean Perosh (17)
Another of the young guns in his first year with the club. Always ready to help out when needed. Doesn’t shy away from the big boys and isn’t intimidated when he gets on the field.
Coach: Matt Tooley
In his first year as coach after a long and successful playing career. Was set to play First Grade when needed this year but after an early season injury decided to leave it to the younger players and coach from the sideline. His experience and guidance has been a major factor in reaching the Grand Final. His book on coaching when written will make interesting reading.
Manager: Ian Barrett
Has been with the club since 1995. Tried to retire this year but was unable to find a replacement. Would like to thank his many assistants who helped wash the shirts each week.
