In the lead-up to the Shoalhaven River Festival in October, a new Facebook page called Riverlution has been launched. The aim: to transform the Nowra CBD through sheer people power.
There are plans for guerrilla gardens to spring up throughout the CBD, as well as street art and yarn bombing, “decorating random places and bringing some life back in the lead-up to the river festival”.
The Facebook page carries photographs of guerrilla gardens that have sprung in other cities around the world, including a couple of shopping trolleys that have been yarn bombed or planted with herbs and vegetables.
Riverlutionaries are hoping to enlist local schoolchildren to help with plantings and street art. To keep up to date with the urban insurgents’ plans, like the Riverlution Nowra page.
