The Celtic day was planned for the Kangaroo Valley Showground on Sunday.

The Valley has received a large amount of rain over the past few weeks with Shoalhaven City Council closing the showground, deeming the ground unsafe for use.

Organiser Tom McKenzie said it was a shame to have to cancel the event, which was shaping up to be a great day of activities.

“It’s disappointing, but the weather is one thing we can’t control,” he said.

“We put a lot of work into the event, we virtually work year round on it.

“We can’t do anything about the grounds not being available, that is something out of our control.

“We won’t look to reschedule, unfortunately we will just have to cancel this year.

“There is no point looking back. We will just start planning already for next year.”
