The set topic for assessment was ‘Signs’.
Long-time club member and accredited judge, Jan Martin, assessed the images entered in both the set and open sections.
There were some very clever and amusing images of signs entered in the set subject as well as some lovely photos in the open section.
The audience enjoyed the screening of the images as Jan commented on their technical strengths, overall impact and appeal and, for the set subject, relevance to the topic.
Jan awarded the photo of the month to Kim Touzel for her wonderful image ‘Watching the Chooks’.
This image is not only technically excellent but has great humour as it portrays her dog Zara looking at her hens through a fence with the sign, ‘Watch out, Australian Cattle Dog about’, clearly telling the story.
The next meeting of the club is tonight, Wednesday, August 27.
Bob Milo is giving a presentation on off camera flash and side lighting. Bob is a well-known professional photographer who specialises in wedding and portrait photography.
He has a studio, InSite Fotographics, in nearby Milton and has been very popular presenter and judge at previous meetings.
The next assessment meeting is on Wednesday, September 10.
The set topic is ‘Light trails and light painting’.
Members are reminded that the annual general meeting will be held at the first meeting in October.
There will be several committee positions vacated and members are encouraged to come forward and stand for the committee to assist in the running of the club and bring in fresh ideas.
Membership fees for 2014–2015 will be due from October.
The club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm at the School of Arts annexe across the road from the Shoalhaven City Arts Centre and at the rear of the Berry Street car park.
Visitors are always welcome.
