Up popped Clive Palmer and his party and the target for their protest votes was found.
History now shows what resulted and the current ranting by Mr Palmer and his party has shown the folly of that process, albeit aided and abetted by much failed public policy by previous governments.
The only ones who can fix this problem are those who created it, by voting together to block him or by the PM calling a double dissolution election so that we the voters can undo what they have done.
Swan, Combet and Hockey have just released books and Gillard is about to. The content of their writings is a blueprint for how and why the Palmer Party had its genesis. How we resolve this problem will be of much interest to many here and overseas.
