AN EAST Nowra woman and two children had a lucky escape on Tuesday night after a lounge on the front patio of the property appeared to have been deliberately set on fire, while they were inside the house.
Police were called to the home in Warramunga Street around 11pm where a lounge was on fire, with flames spreading to the front wall of the property.
The owner of the house, a 55-year-old woman, who also had two 12-year-old children in the home, were alerted to the fire by neighbours and escaped unhurt.
Neighbours used a garden hose to extinguish the blaze and with the help of police the lounge was moved away from the home to stop any further damage.
Fire and Rescue NSW Shoalhaven and Nowra crews attended the blaze to ensure it was extinguished.
Police were provided with information regarding the fire and searched the area, speaking with a 14-year-old Nowra male.
Police are looking for another young male, described as being about 14, of chubby build, fair skin and dark hair who may be able to assist police with inquiries.
