Well-read, well-connected

THIS week schools across the Shoalhaven celebrated all things literary for Book Week.

The teachers and students from Bomaderry Primary School got into the spirit of things with all the teachers dressing up as a character on Tuesday.

There was a special assembly with awards given to those students who had excelled in different areas.

The DeanSwift book stall was a hit with all, with the Skullduggery series proving a sell-out hit.

This year’s theme for Book Week is “Reading to connect”.

Reading to connect has a broader social meaning, suggesting that reading assists in creating a bond with others.

Within the world of the contemporary child, this is also relevant as they read books and they read to connect through a variety of media.
