This year My Kitchen Rules judge Colin Fassnidge was mentoring students alongside former colleague, Nowra’s own celebrity chef Matt Fleming, who previously worked at Establishment in Sydney.
Mr Fassnidge said he was glad to be working with TAFE to give back into the future of his industry.
“We all complain there’s no staff coming through the ranks but you can’t complain if you don’t do something about it,” he said.
“This dinner is helping the future of the industry.”
Second-year apprentice chef Josie Strong from Hungry Duck said she was shocked when she saw what was expected of the students on Tuesday.
“I was wondering how we were going to be able to pull this off but I can see we will,” she said.
“It’s good working with Colin. It’s nice to see the intensity of what goes into events like this.”
