About 30 local dairy industry farmers attended the event at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre to discuss effective water, nutrient and energy management for dairies.
Other topics included how to move beyond 800 head of cattle, understanding EPA licensing and solutions and Shoalhaven Water REMS Stage 1B updates.
Craig Singleton and Andy Beldom from GHD Nowra said the forum was about engaging with the local dairy industry and helping to make people aware of the local network.
“The day was about having a two-way discussion with people from the local dairy industry, a group of engineers and environmental scientists and showing what GHD can offer the dairy industry,” Mr Singleton said.
“A lot of the dairy industry weren’t aware of our presence, so the day was a way for us to introduce ourselves to that group with presentations on topics relevant to them.
“There was a lot of robust discussion and thought starters.”
“It was really just about opening a discussion about a range of expertise and skills that will assist the dairy farmers in more efficient way,” Mr Beldom said.
