Senior Constable Richardson died suddenly from a suspected heart attack while attending a wedding in Sydney last week.
His funeral will be held at the chapel of the Catholic Crematorium, in Barnet Avenue, Rookwood on Tuesday, August 19.
Known to many simply as Richo, he was a larger-than-life character, with workmates describing him as “a pleasure to work with”.
Aged 45, he is late of Erowal Bay and formerly the Bay and Basin area.
He was the much loved son of Sheril and John (dec) and brother and brother-in-law of Jenny and Tony, Paul and Cathy.
Snr Const Richardson spent many years in the Shoalhaven, working with general duties car crews, as a shift supervisor, exhibits officer and handling rosters.
While not a full police service, a number of officers will act as pallbearers and there will be a valedictorian speech.
A number of Shoalhaven officers will attend the service and there are plans to hold a local service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made at the service for Relay for Life Nowra.
