Shoalhaven City Council established the Hall of Sporting Fame in 2000 as a way of recognising the outstanding achievements of local residents across a range of disciplines.
Nominations are open in the following categories – Shoalhaven Elite Athlete, Shoalhaven Sporting Hero and Shoalhaven Sporting Animal.
“The Shoalhaven City has a reputation for producing high quality, talented sportspeople over a long period of time and the Shoalhaven Hall of Sporting Fame provides the community with an opportunity to recognise those sports men, women and animals that have represented the area at an elite level,” said Shoalhaven Mayor Joanna Gash.
To be eligible for nomination, the athlete must have represented their sport at an international or national elite level, have undergone their formative training in the area or be recognised as a medium/long term Shoalhaven resident.
For more information, including full selection criteria, local residents can download a nomination form at www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au or pick one up at council’s Nowra or Ulladulla administration buildings.
A formal induction ceremony will be held at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on November 28.
