INDIVIDUALS and community groups wanting to improve fish habitats are encouraged to apply for money through the next funding round of the NSW government’s Habitat Action Grants Program.
Grants of up to $40,000 are available to fishing clubs, community groups, local councils and individuals wanting to improve fish habitats in their local area.
More than half a million dollars is available in this funding round to improve habitats in local creeks, rivers and estuaries.
Locally, $25,000 has previously been spent funding the Bolong Road Fishing Platform project to manage stock on riverbanks.
Applications for Habitat Action Grants remain open until September 19.
