The hearing, part of a public consultation into skin cancer in Australia, will take place at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre from 9am to 12.45pm.
Member for Gilmore Ann Sudmalis encouraged residents to attend.
“As a Member of the Standing Committee on Health when I heard the committee was thinking of hitting the road to talk with communities about skin cancer, I immediately suggested Nowra,” Mrs Sudmalis said.
“I recommended they visit the Shoalhaven due to our ageing population and substantial local experience with treating skin cancers in regional areas.
“Representatives of local cancer support groups, researchers in medical science, and a range of GPs and specialist doctors have all been invited along to speak to the committee about their experiences.”
The hearing will also feature Andrew Rust, who recently completed the 900 kilometre walk from Sydney to Melbourne to raise awareness about melanoma.
The hearing will also be live-streamed at www.aph.gov.au/live.
