Winter competition starts to heat up

THE competition is heating up in the Pioneer Tenpin Bowling League.

As expected, it is between Nutters, who beat the Thunderbirds last week but cannot lose fourth place, while last comp winners The Niners just scraped in over The Screaming Banshees fight it out with the Nutters.

There is also a battle between In It to Win It and Thunderbirds for third place.

In It To Win It 13 ½ points def The Pinheads 6 ½ points

For In It To Win It Glenn Corbett had games of 192, 175, 140 for a 507 series. Lyn Carter had games of 98, 102, 109 for a 309 series. Adam Richardson had games of 79, 114, 104 for a 297 series, while Cameron Arnold had all under average games of 128, 124, 149 for a 401 series.

For the Pinheads, Terrie Walsh had games of 149, 137, 125 for a 411 series. Chantelle Flynn had games of 137, 125, 119 for a 381 series. David Hart had all under average games of 76, 85, 92 for a 253 series, while The Vacant Score never gained them any points.

The Deadly Assassins 14pts def Spicks and Specks 6pts

For The Deadly Assassins Peter Speller had games of 143, 129, 183 for a 455 series. Cara Cooper had games of 124, 97, 120 for a 341 series. Hal Johnston had all under average games of 135, 133, 124 for a 302 series, while Chris Purches also had all under average games of 103, 104, 110 for a 317 series.

For Spicks and Specks Val Dinnie had games of 98, 131, 112 for a 341 series. Neil Hawes had games of 105, 115, 89 for a 309 series. Les Robinson had all under average games of 163, 167, 170 for a 500 series while Trevor Boyd’s absent score never gained any points.

Nutters 12pts def Thunderbirds 8pts

For The Nutters Isaac Riley had all over average games of 161, 180, 162 for a 543 series. Jody Jenner had games of 99, 114 and 150 for a 363 series. Chloe Jenner had games of 139, 81, 124 for a 344 series.

For Thunderbirds Sue Collins had games of 141, 121, 144 for a 406 series.

Kathleen Morgan had games of 159, 130, 94 for a 383 series.

Les Collins had games of 109, 99, 145 for a 347 series, while Carl Henderson had all under average games of 136, 111, 103 for a 350 series.

Bitches 12 ½ pts def Nohopenhells 7 1/2pts

For Bitches Debbie Pickering had games of 149, 166, 130 for a 445 series. Ingrid Sach had games of 123, 153, 133 for a 407 series. Ann McCudden had all under average games of 92, 96, 108 for a 296 series, while Julie Nicholls absent score gained threm three points.

For Nohopenhells Brett Sanson had games of 143, 101, 101 for a 345 series. Craig Robinson had games of 117, 100, 95 for a 312 series. Matt Whitehurst had games of 121, 78, 97 for a 296 series, while Steve Edmonds had all under average games of 109, 83, 88 for a 280 series.

For MACK Ashleigh Miller had all over average games of 118, 157, 123 for a 398 series. Cheyne Pons had games of 107, 124, 147 for a 378 series. Margret Gardiner had games of 109, 129, 118 for a 356 series, while Robin Quintrell’s absent score gained them three and a half points.

For Powerpins Matthew Tranter took out the star bowler of the round award bowling 68 pins over average in his games of 115, 125, 173 for a 417 series of which they were all over average.

Adam Royston had games of 179, 114, 115 for a 408 series. Grant Wellard had games of 100, 149, 103 for a 352 series, while Glenn Cleary had all under average games of 130, 116, 112 for a 358 series.

The Niners 11pts def The Screaming Banshees 9pts

For The Niners Glenn Pollard had all over average games of 155, 210, 197 for a 562 series. Leiland Friend took out the equal wooden spooner of the round award bowling 34 pins under average in his games of 127, 204, 171 for a 502 series. Ron Timbs took out the equal wooden spooner of the round award bowling 34 pins under average in his games of 162, 122, 139 for a 423 series, while Bob Doyle had all under average games of 116, 109, 101 for a 326 series.

For The Screaming Banshees Debra Pypers took out the star bowler of the round award bowling 62 pins over average in her games of 176, 136, 215 for a 527 series.

Siretta Dawson had all under average games of 131, 135, 119 for a 385 series. Joanne Boler also had all under average games of 105, 111, 112 for a 328 seriers, while Robyn Quigley took out the wooden spooner of the round award bowling 32 pins under average in her games of 100, 77, 133 for a 310 series.

The 200 Plus Club Award games was by The Niners’ Glenn Pollard with a nice game of 210. His teammate Leiland Friend had a nice game of 204.

The Screaming Banshees player Debra Pyper sbeat the men by bowling a great game of 215. Well done to Glenn, Leiland and Debra.
