The man entered the home at 9.40pm and walked through the courtyard before entering a building.
He went into a number of rooms where he rummaged through drawers.
Two residents confronted the man and escorted him from the building.
Investigators from Shoalhaven Local Area Command would like to speak to a man who may be able to help with their investigation.
